Barclays is the largest financier of industrial livestock globally, providing $28.2 billion in financing to factory farming giants like JBS and Cargill between 2015 and 2022, which are linked to deforestation, animal cruelty, and human rights abuses. Despite multiple scandals, Barclays has provided over a quarter of identified corporate loans and nearly a fifth of bond issuances to JBS globally.
