NatWest

NatWest is financing nature loss!

NatWest has been named as one of the 'Big 6' banks which provided a total of $21.6 billion (£17 billion) in finance between 2015 and 2022 to five of the world’s biggest emitting industrial livestock companies – JBS, Marfrig, Cargill, Tyson Foods, and Minerva. Though it has a stronger animal testing policy than many banks, it is a leading lender to animal agriculture in the UK, with no exclusion policy on factory farming - the leading driver of global deforestation and natural habitat loss.

A few easy steps to support
big changes

Step 1
1. Engage with your bank
Contacting your bank is a powerful way to drive change. Banks use customer deposits to make their loans and investments, so if you tell them that you don’t want your money to finance factory farming, they recognise the risk of losing customers. Together, our engagement has the potential to shift vast sums away from this industry.
Step 2
2. Check your bank, and switch if you can
If you don’t want to risk your money financing this industry, switching banks is a strong statement - but they need to be told why you’re leaving to make a difference.
